The need was there to invent a twisted barra leader that would allow efficient abrasion resistance whilst giving braid anglers in particular a good ‘shock absortion’ when fighting feisty fish.

These hand made Barra Leaders by Bransfords do the job exceptionally well! They are made from Hi Tensile 40 lbs that gives double the breaking strain except for the last 25 cms which is a quadruple twist. Just how strong is that??  We have also added a plastic tube anti chaffing device at the business end that connects onto a Japanese made Cross Lock heavy duty snap.

Again, a top invention that solves another problem for serious anglers.

Average total length of these twisted leaders is 1 metre. Also, you can expect one of these leaders to last at least half a dozen trips.
