UPDATE! We have posted some pictures of the weigh-ins at Bransfords here for the public to enjoy:
Five year old Ethan Owen was fishing with his dad at Machans beach, casting a Rapala
X-Rap minnow. He then latched onto this 3.5 kilo barra and handled it like a seasoned pro. This was Ethans first barra,
but there’s no doubting it won’t be his last!
This 8 kilo barra is the biggest weighed in so far at Bransfords Tackle Shop and is in the
running for an ABU Ltd. Edition Inshore Revo reel. Greg Klibbe was the captor near the Groin at Yorkeys Knob.
He used 6 kilo tackle and an RMG Scorpion lure.
Ryan Barfoot weighed this 5.5 kilo barra at Bransfords. Taken on an F1.11 minnow lure
he used a Shimano combo and Amnesia 30 lbs braid to subdue the fish on a rocky headland near Ellis Beach
This metre plus 12 kilo barra was caught by Will Pritchard off the rocks at Taylor Point, north
of Cairns, using an F1.11 Barra Lure. The first metre plus fish weighed in at Bransfords for our Barra Buster Competition.
Zac Carr and his mates spend some hours fishing off Palm Cove Jetty, and often end up
catching some quality fish! This 16.5 kilo barra took a live pike and took 20 minutes to coax away from
the jetty pylons. It went 108 cms
