Bransfords 'Barra Buster Promotion' - February & March 2009

Bransfords tackle Shop at Clifton Beach will be featuring their annual Barra Buster promotion during February and March to co-incide with the opening of the barra season. This years prize tally tops $6,000 and owner, Keith Graham, claims this to be the biggest in-store promotion in any tackle store in North Queensland.

To enter any customer needs to spend a minimum of $30 to go in the draw, which will be on April 1st, the more times a customer spends the more entries they have in the barrel.

The First Prize this year is a 15hp Yamaha outboard motor, it is currently on display at Bransfords Tackle Shop, Clifton Beach. Valued at $3,000 this is an incredible outboard motor with fantastic weight/power ratio and great fuel efficiency. Perfect for your river tinnie and small enough to pack for that epic remote fishing trip you have always wanted to do!

The remaining four prizes are top shelf Barra Combos from Shimano, (CTE 300 plus Raider Rod), Daiwa (Luna 253 plus Graphite Rod), L.Wilson (ATC Custom Rod + Morex Reel), Penn (Slammer reel plus Rod) and Barra Clasic Lure Packs to be won.

In addition to these great prizes there will be TWO ABU Reevo Reels awarded to the two most meritorious Barra weighed in at Bransfords, (or photos sent in to PO Box 405, Clifton Beach 4879 of any barra caught in the Far North from February 1st 2009 that is released or could not be brought in to weigh). If you send in a photo there must be a signed affidavit from a witness to the capture.

Any customers who place a phone order during Feb/March will automatically go in the draw.

Keith Graham said, “Last years Barra Buster promotion attracted over 6,000 entries for the prizes and 57 entries for the Most Meritorious Barra capture, with the prize pool ridiculously good this year we hope to attract a record level of entries. The very best of luck to our current and prospective new customers”.

UPDATE! We have posted some pictures of the weigh-ins at Bransfords here for the public to enjoy:
Five year old Ethan Owen was fishing with his dad at Machans beach, casting a Rapala X-Rap minnow. He then latched onto this 3.5 kilo barra and handled it like a seasoned pro. This was Ethans first barra, but there’s no doubting it won’t be his last!

This 8 kilo barra is the biggest weighed in so far at Bransfords Tackle Shop and is in the running for an ABU Ltd. Edition Inshore Revo reel. Greg Klibbe was the captor near the Groin at Yorkeys Knob. He used 6 kilo tackle and an RMG Scorpion lure.

Ryan Barfoot weighed this 5.5 kilo barra at Bransfords. Taken on an F1.11 minnow lure he used a Shimano combo and Amnesia 30 lbs braid to subdue the fish on a rocky headland near Ellis Beach

This metre plus 12 kilo barra was caught by Will Pritchard off the rocks at Taylor Point, north of Cairns, using an F1.11 Barra Lure. The first metre plus fish weighed in at Bransfords for our Barra Buster Competition.

Zac Carr and his mates spend some hours fishing off Palm Cove Jetty, and often end up catching some quality fish! This 16.5 kilo barra took a live pike and took 20 minutes to coax away from the jetty pylons. It went 108 cms
