We felt there was a need to develop a Braid that would stand up better in the tropics! In these climes we do have much higher humidity levels, higher salinity levels in our reef waters and so many timber snags that standard braids just don’t cut the gravy.

We asked the local fishing guides and charter boat skippers what they were looking for in a quality braid. They told us that they wanted a round cross-section for easy casting, a braid that was not too limp to avoid tangles, a medium diameter braid for better abrasive resistance, and a braid that knots well. This was a tall order so we briefed our manufacturer and after 15 months of field testing and tweaking five different products we finally arrived at the right formula.

Amnesia Braid is 100% Dyneema and fits all of the above criteria and as it is our Exclusive Braid the price is right. One other request from the guides and skippers, as well as the general public, was for a Bulk Spool that offered a considerable saving. Flouro yellow is ideal for those wanting to troll, especially for barra, as the line can easily be seen so distance back from the boat can be judged more easily. Some lure casters also prefer to use flouro braid as they feel they can cast more accurately if they can watch the lure at the end of a bright coloured braid.
